Teatime at Rippavilla

We offer Teatime on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month. For reservations, call Carolyn Cox at 931.540.0741

Exploring Plantation Life and Slavery at Rippavilla

In honor of African American History month Rippavilla Plantation is offering a “Plantation Life and Slavery Tour of Rippavilla” at regular admission price. This tour will begin in the house with the family history and life of the house slaves. The guests will then drive to the slave cabin where daily life of the field slaves and farming will be discussed. A brief walk from the slave cabin to the cemeteries will conclude the tour with the discussion of African burial rituals. The tour will last approximately 2.5 hours

Tour times: Saturday, Feb. 2nd - 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3rd - 1:30. Only one tour will be offered on Sunday.

Traveling Exhibit of Civilian Civil War Artifacts

includes original Civil War era clothing, Union and Confederate currency, over 100 photos, hair jewelry and accessories. Admission: $10.00 adults (13 and over), $5.00 children (6 to 12) and free for 5 and under. Admission includes a tour of Rippavilla. Hours: Friday & Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Party-goers enjoy an evening of wine, hor d’ oeuvres and music by Lynn Lewis and Friends. The party begins at 6:00 p.m.

In addition, 30 Adirondack chairs hand painted and decorated by local artists will be auctioned starting at 7:30 p.m.

Anniversary event in observance of the Battle of Spring Hill

Costumed guides will interpret the Cheairs family experiences during the Civil War and specifically the day and evening of the Battle of Spring Hill. The house will be illuminated by candle light giving visitors a unique experience. The tour is limited to the downstairs of the mansion.

Admission for this annual event is $10.00 per person, ages 12 and over and $6.00 for ages 6 to 11.

Tours will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the last tour beginning at 8:00p.m. Tours will begin approximately every 40 minutes.
