Nestled among 100 acres of farmland and rolling hills is one of Tennessee's hidden treasures. Visitors can enjoy a guided tour of the mansion, a walk through the adjacent fields where the Battle of Spring Hill raged, or our extensive gardens and grounds.
Rippavilla is a Greek Revival style mansion built in 1855 by Nathaniel and Susan Cheairs. The main house is over 10,000 square feet, and is filled with many original furnishings and artifacts. In addition to the home, the grounds boast a historic 1855 barn, two cemeteries, and one remaining slave cabin.
Historic Rippavilla is a must-see for anyone interested in the Civil War, Tennessee history, and southern agriculture.
