About Rippavilla
Come one, come all to Historic Rippavilla, the stately, 160+ year old home of Nathaniel F. Cheairs IV. and Susan McKissack Cheairs.
Located in the heart of Spring Hill, Tennessee – just minutes from historic Franklin and downtown Nashville– Rippavilla features a stunning and fully restored 1855 Greek Revival styled mansion, complete with original Cheairs family antiques, heirlooms and Civil War artifacts.
The grounds, which span 98 acres in Maury County, encompass the family and slave cemeteries, Freeman's Bureau school house, slave quarters, and the Battlefield of Spring Hill (precursor to the famous Battle of Franklin).
Historic Rippavilla is open daily for guided tours, field trips, family outings, and occasional community events.
The extraordinary home, which is listed on the U.S. National
Register of Historic Places, is also the ideal setting for
weddings, receptions and other private functions.
Rippavilla is owned and maintained by the City of Spring Hill.
